Terms of Business

These Terms of Business govern the use of the Business Broker Directory operated by the British Business Brokers Association (“BBBA”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By listing in the directory or contacting members through our platform, you agree to these terms.

1. Directory Listings (Members)

1.1 Eligibility
Only approved members of the BBBA may be listed in the directory. Members are responsible for ensuring all submitted information is accurate, current, and not misleading.

1.2 Listing Content
Members grant BBBA permission to display their business name, contact details, service descriptions, and related information for directory and promotional purposes. BBBA reserves the right to edit, suspend, or remove listings at its discretion.

1.3 Professional Conduct
Members agree to act professionally, ethically, and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Any conduct that brings the Association or profession into disrepute may result in removal from the directory.

1.4 No Guarantee of Business
Inclusion in the directory does not guarantee enquiries, leads, or transactions. BBBA provides the directory as a networking and visibility platform only.

2. Third-Party Contacting Members

2.1 Permitted Use
The directory is provided to help business owners and buyers connect with professional brokers. It must not be used for unsolicited marketing, bulk outreach, data harvesting, or resale of contact information.

2.2 Prohibited Activity
Third parties may not:

  • Scrape or copy directory data

  • Send spam or mass communications

  • Misrepresent their identity or intentions

  • Use member details for unrelated commercial purposes

Any misuse may result in access restrictions and potential legal action.

2.3 No Agency Relationship
BBBA does not act as agent for members and is not party to any discussions or transactions between members and third parties.

3. Liability Disclaimer

BBBA does not vet individual transactions or guarantee the performance, advice, or outcomes provided by listed members. All engagements are entered into at the sole discretion and risk of the parties involved. BBBA accepts no liability for losses, disputes, or damages arising from directory use.

4. Data Protection

All parties must comply with applicable UK data protection legislation. Personal data obtained through the directory may only be used for legitimate enquiry purposes and must be handled securely and responsibly.

5. Changes to These Terms

BBBA may update these Terms of Business from time to time. Continued use of the directory constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.
